Walking together through the landscapes around us and the landscapes within.
A slow pilgrimage through Galicia, designed to reconnect body, mind and inner rhythm.

“The journey itself is home”
(Matsuo Bashō)
The Portuguese Camino from Vigo is one of the most important pilgrimage routes leading to Santiago de Compostela.
For centuries, pilgrims have travelled north through Portugal before crossing into Galicia and continuing on foot towards Santiago. Starting in Vigo allows walkers to experience the final 100 kilometres of this historic route while following paths that have welcomed pilgrims from across Europe for generations.
The Portuguese Camino offers the perfect balance between cultural heritage, peaceful natural landscapes and vibrant Galician towns. Passing through forests, vineyards, medieval villages and ancient pilgrimage paths, it invites walkers to discover the rich traditions and warm hospitality that make this route so special.
Walking the Portuguese Camino means slowing down, embracing the rhythm of each day and creating space for reflection, connection and quiet transformation with every step toward Santiago.
Which stages will we walk?
DAY ONE: ARRIVAL IN VIGO

Our journey begins in Vigo, Galicia’s largest coastal city, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful Ría de Vigo. We settle into our accommodation, explore the old town, enjoy the local gastronomy and meet the group before beginning our pilgrimage together.
DAY TWO: VIGO – REDONDELA

Leaving the city behind, we gradually enter the Galician countryside. Forest paths, quiet lanes and beautiful panoramic views accompany us as we walk towards Redondela, where the Coastal Portuguese Camino joins the Central Portuguese Route. From here, pilgrims from different paths continue together towards Santiago.
Distance: 16 km or 10 mi
Elevation: +450 m / -450 m or +1,476 ft / -1,476 ft
DAY THREE: REDONDELA – PONTEVEDRA

Today’s walk takes us through eucalyptus forests, small rural villages and peaceful country roads. Crossing ancient bridges and following historic pilgrimage paths, we arrive in Pontevedra, home to one of the best-preserved medieval centres in Galicia, full of lively squares and charming streets.
Distance: 20 km or 12.4 mi
Elevation: +300 m / -350 m or +984 ft / -1,148 ft
DAY FOUR: PONTEVEDRA – CALDAS DE REIS

Leaving Pontevedra, we continue through vineyards, forests and traditional Galician hamlets. The path follows rivers and shaded woodland before reaching Caldas de Reis, a town famous for its natural thermal springs that have welcomed travellers for centuries.
Distance: 23 km or 14.3 mi
Elevation: +350 m / -250 m or +1,148 ft / -820 ft
DAY FIVE: CALDAS DE REIS – PADRÓN

The Camino gently winds through green valleys, small villages and agricultural landscapes. We cross ancient stone bridges and quiet streams before arriving in Padrón, one of the most significant places in the Jacobean tradition, where legend says the boat carrying the remains of Saint James first arrived in Galicia.
Distance: 18 km or 11.2 mi
Elevation: +250 m / -300 m or +820 ft / -984 ft
DAY SIX: PADRÓN – SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA

The final stage carries a special energy. Step by step, anticipation grows as Santiago draws closer. The path climbs gently through forests and villages before revealing the historic streets of the old city. Then, finally, we enter the Praza do Obradoiro and stand before the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
After days of walking together, we arrive not only at our destination, but also with a deeper sense of presence, gratitude and connection.
Distance: 24 km or 15 mi
Elevation: +450 m / -250 m or +1,476 ft / -820 ft
